On Sunday, October 30th, 2022 IJC Martial Arts, in partnership with American Judo System, held our annual Fall Judo Cup tournament – part of the IJC Four Seasons Invitational Tournament series. Fittingly, this tournament fell on International Coaches Day which solidified the sense of appreciation and honor towards the many coaches who attended and supported the event. 

IJC Martial Arts has had the pleasure of hosting these positive, fun, challenging, developmental tournaments over the years creating a strong sense of camaraderie  and support in the local Judo community. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of watching these tournaments grow and improve. This year our Fall Cup was honored to host over 160 athletes competing in a variety of divisions ranging from youth, senior, novice, intermediate and professional competitors. Friends, families, teammates and judo enthusiasts from all around the tri-state area and beyond were able to not only attend the event and see the action first-hand, but were also able to view and review matches using the live-stream capabilities arranged by  American Judo System.

Our partnership with American Judo System was a tremendous success and lent to a truly seamless, stress-free, professional, high level experience for all those involved. From planning to execution, American Judo System and IJC Martial Arts proudly offered local Judoka an opportunity to learn and grow in a truly friendly and supportive environment. Amazing judo technique, etiquette, sportsmanship and teamwork were displayed. In addition to offering exciting matches, the  IJC Four Seasons Tournaments are also an effective developmental opportunity for not only athletes, but referees as well. In conjunction with certified professional Judo referees, many athletes were also tasked with the dual responsibility of both competing and refereeing their fellow judoka. Under the guidance and mentorship of IJF Level A International referees, the  success and advancement of these junior referees is bright and promising.

Along with full division matches, competitors were also able to enjoy and grow from the many exhibition matches which were made available to all athletes and coaches who wanted that extra experience and opportunity. Finally, to end such a positive, rewarding experience, many IJC Martial Arts students were presented with their well-deserved belt promotions!
